The WashWise tier qualifications have changed for 2011. The current 2011 tier qualifications are:

Definitions of Modified Energy Factor (MEF) and Water Factor (WF)

MEF

Modified Energy Factor is the cubic feet of laundry that can be washed and dried per kWh. The higher the MEF the more efficient the machine.

WF

Water Factor is the number of gallons of water needed to wash each cubic foot of laundry. The lower the WF the less water the machine uses.

ENERGY STAR^® Qualifications

Not all ENERGY STAR washers qualify for a WashWise Rebate. To see a list of qualified models, please refer to the most current Qualified Products List.

Applying for a WashWise Rebate

To successfully submit a qualified application for a WashWise Clothes Washer Rebate, the following requirements must be met:

1. Purchase a new qualified clothes washer from January 1, 2011, through December 31, 2011, and install it in the service area of one of the participating utilities.
2. Complete the entire front portion of the rebate application form and sign it.
3. Make a copy of the completed rebate application and receipt for your records.
4. Mail the completed copy of the rebate application and a copy of your itemized invoice or sales receipt within 90 days of purchase of clothes washer.
