Application Questions
- Q: Only one of my utility providers is listed, am I still eligible?
A: Yes. You are eligible if you are a residential customer of at least one of the participating electric or water utility providers.
- Q: Is my email address required?
A: No.
- Q: What is the Payment Release Authorization and is it required?
A: The Payment Release Authorization is only required if you would like the check to be made payable to a third party.
- Q: What is considered to be proof of purchase?
A: A copy of the itemized receipt. An itemized receipt must include retailer name, address, phone number, purchase date, price and product model description.
- Q: Where is the Serial Number located?
A: The serial number is usually located on the door of the clothes washer. Please contact your retailer if you need assistance locating the serial number.
Note: If you purchased a Bosch clothes washer, the serial number is typically the FD code. If you purchased a Fisher & Paykel clothes washer, the serial number is located on the rear of the machine.
- Q: The clothes washer will not be installed within 90 days of purchase. How do I apply?
A: Please include a copy of your delivery receipt, indicating the date the clothes washer was delivered. We cannot guarantee that applications received outside of the 90 day window will receive a rebate.
- Q: Is there an online submission option?
A: Not at this time. You may email your rebate application and itemized receipt as a scanned attachment to
- Q: In what form is the rebate issued?
A: A check is mailed to the applicant or the Third party payee if applicable.
- Q: How long will it take to receive my rebate check?
A: From the date we receive your eligible rebate application submission it takes approximately six-to-eight weeks to process and mail your rebate check.
Renters & Property Owners
- Q: I pay electric and water utilities to a condo association and/or home owners association, am I still eligible?
A: You must have a verifiable individual residential account for the installation address with at least one of the participating electric or water utility providers.
- Q: I’m a property owner installing a new qualified clothes washer in a rental. What is the process?
A: Please include utility customer information and signature for the address where the clothes washer was installed. If you would like your check sent to a third party, please fill out the Payment Release Authorization located on the reverse side of the rebate form.
- Q: I am a property developer installing multiple clothes washers into residences. What is the process?
A: Please contact us for further details regarding multi-family applications.
Receipt Questions
- Q: Is a copy of the itemized receipt acceptable?
A: Yes. The original receipt is not required.
- Q: My Sears receipt does not contain the manufacturer’s model number. Is this ok?
A: Yes. Sears prints their unique stock keeping unit numbers (SKUs) on the receipt. Please make sure to provide the model number as found on the clothes washer when completing the application.
- Q: Home Depot provided a cash register receipt, is this sufficient?
A: No. Please provide the itemized Home Depot Special Services Customer Invoice (SSCI), which is printed on a standard size paper (8-½ x11).
- Q: I lost my receipt, what should I do?
A: Please contact your retailer and request a reprint of your receipt.
- Q: There is a different name on the receipt than listed on the rebate application, is this ok?
A: Yes, the name on the rebate application does not need to match the name on the receipt.
Online Purchases
- Q: What if I made my purchase from an online retailer?
A: The online receipt should include the name of the retailer, price, date, washer description and proof of payment/order confirmation number.
- Q: The online receipt does not show proof of payment, is this ok?
A: The online receipt should refer to an order confirmation number, which indicates proof of purchase.
- Q: The online receipt only gives an item number and no description of the clothes washer, is this ok?
A: Please include the printed page from the online retailer website that gives the description of the applicable item number.
Other / Missing Info / Other Rebates
- Q: What if I received a request for missing information?
A: Please resubmit the rebate application and itemized receipt with the missing information requested within 90 days of purchase via mail, fax or email (as a scanned attachment) to
- Q: Is there a rebate for the dryer or other appliances?
A: Please contact your local utility provider to inquire about other rebates or visit www.energystar.gov or www.dsireusa.org to search for rebates in your area.
- Q: What if my LG model was upgraded, am I still eligible for a rebate?
A: Yes, please include with your completed rebate application both your purchase receipts for your old model and new model LG as well as the delivery receipt for the new model.
